Jack Aaron Smuck - Born July 8, 1928 in Hilo, Hawaii, died November 4, 2012 in Petaluma, California. A US Army Veteran, a graduate of the University of California, Berkeley, and a husband of 56 years to his wife, Jane, who died in 2006, with whom he was the father of four children: Elizabeth, Susan (Gerald), Jim (Kim), and Jennifer, and the grandfather of six and the great-grandfather of three. Services will be private. A Celebration of Life for Jane and Jack will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimerâ??s Assoc., 1211 N. Jack was the manager of Jacksonâ??s Hardware in San Rafael over three decades, and he enjoyed golf, tennis, swimming, traveling around the world, building and working on his houses, and participating in the Rohnert Park community with his family, friends and his many acquaintances, including the founding of Candy Cane Lane on Alden Avenue in the 1960â??s. Jack will be missed and remembered by all who knew him.
