Jacob J. "Jake" Petersen - Lifelong Petaluma resident, Jake Petersen died at his home early Monday morning, April 2, 2007 at the age of 96. Born, reared and educated in Petaluma, Mr. Petersen served in the U.S. Army during World War Two. He worked in the auto body industry for over 30 years, associated with Murphy Chevrolet and later DeLong Chevrolet in Marin County. Jake was an avid hunter and fisherman, catching his last salmon at the age of 89. His wife, Dorothy was a teacher in Petaluma schools for many years. Jake was a member of the Petaluma Lodge #901 B.P.O.E., Nicasio Parlor #183 N.S.G.W., SIRS, Outdoorsman and the Lone Fir Gun Club. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Petersen of Petaluma. Brother of Helen T. Pippin of Waterford, CA and was preceded in death by his brother, George P. Petersen. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Family and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Service, Wednesday, April 11, 2007 at 10:00 A.M. at the PARENT-SORENSEN MORTUARY & CREMATORY, 850 Keokuk St., Petaluma. Visitation will be held Tuesday, April 10, 2007 from 11:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. Interment will be at Cypress Hill Memorial Park. The family prefers memorials be made to your favorite charity.
