James A. Bettinelli

Passed away after a sudden illness, Sunday, March 27, 2016 in Petaluma, CA at the age of 81. He was the son of the late Laurence and Loretta Bettinelli. Survived by his twin sister Joan Silva and her husband Frank and his brother, Lauren Bettinelli and his wife, Maureen. He was preceded in death by his sister, Claire Lucchesi. Nephew of Julia Jensen. Also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Jim, a member of the pioneer Bettinelli family, was born, reared and educated in Petaluma, graduating from St. Vincent High School in 1952. He went on to U.C. Berkeley where he graduated from UCSF with a degree in pharmacology. He was the co-owner/operator of Tuttle Drug in Petaluma until his retirement. Jim was a member of the Petaluma Lodge #901 BPOE, Nicasio Parlor #183 NSGW and the Pharmaceutical Association. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 30, 2016 from 11:00 AM to 8:00 PM at PARENT-SORENSEN MORTUARY & CREMATORY, 850 Keokuk St., Petaluma. The Vigil Service will be held at 7:00 PM Wednesday. Family and friends are also invited to attend the Funeral Mass, Thursday, March 31, 2016 at 11:00 AM at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, Petaluma. Entombment will follow at Calvary Catholic Cemetery, Petaluma. The family prefer memorials be made to St. Vincent de Paul High School or to Hanna Boy's Center. Visitation
