James "Jim" J. Cassidy, 80, of Petaluma, CA, died October 30, 2014 at his home.
He was born June 2, 1934 in Lowell MA, the youngest son of the late Charles A. and Hannah (Fitzpatrick) Cassidy. He was educated in the Lowell Schools and graduated from Lowell High School. Jim traveled the world during his 20 years of service in the United States Air Force from 1954 through 1974 - serving two tours of Vietnam. When he returned to the states, he settled in the Marin County area of California. He was bartender for 20 years at the Marin Country Club.
Jim is survived by his sister Ruth (Cassidy) Santos of Lowell, MA, his dear friend Geraldine (Gerry) Lehan, of Petaluma, CA. He will be deeply missed by his niece Brenda Silveria, and grand-nieces Bonnie Silveria-DiSalvo and Tracie (Silveria) Roy, and their children, whom he remained close to throughout his life. He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his three brothers - Charles R. (Buddy), Joseph, and Edward and four sisters - Florence Travers, Lillian Chenard, Irene Spinney, and Evelyn Winters.
A memorial will be celebrated at St. Vincent de Paul Church, 35 Liberty Street in Petaluma, CA on Saturday, November 8th at noon.
