James "Jim" Dougan

July 7, 1921 — July 1, 2018

JAMES "JIM" DOUGAN passed away at his home in Rohnert Park.  Jim was born on the K Ranch in Pt. Reyes to William Dougan and Sarah Nesbitt Dougan.

He spent most of his life in Marin County.  He graduated from San Rafael High School and worked as an auto mechanic.  He met and married June Camenisch in 1942.  He joined the U.S. Army as Technical  Sergeant in the Army ship repair unit in the Philippines and became chief warrant officer in Manila.  He bought Bolinas Garage in 1947 and was active in local politics and local school boards. After selling the garage in 1960 he went into the insurance business.

Jim was an avid camper enjoying RV travel with good friends and family.  He visited Ireland several times, and enjoyed trips to Europe and Asia.  He also enjoyed restoring vintage cars.

He was a long time member/ State Grand Master of the Loyal Orange Lodge.  He was also a member of the Masonic Lodge, American Legion, and Shriners.

Jim is survived by his daughters Maureen Blair and Marge Bell, his sister Ethel Lucas, brothers Harold, Herb, William, and  Alec Dougan; His grandchildren Heather Reid, Mark Blair, Laurel Ladouceur, Erin Blair, CJ Bell, and Lisa Adams; Great grandchildren Alesha Reid, Nathan Lagasse, Alana Ladouceur, Danijel Blair, Lucy Ladouceur, Kate Adams, and great grandson Kevin Schoenstein. He is predeceased by his brothers Robert, Jack, George, and his wife June Dougan.

Private interment was held and a celebration of life for family and friends will be held Saturday July 28, at 11:00am at Parent-Sorensen Chapel (850 Keokuk Rd. Petaluma, CA).  Reception to follow at Hermann Sons Hall, (860 Western Ave. Petaluma, CA).
