James Thomas Mccarter

Passed away peacefully in his home in Petaluma, CA, June 25, 2016, after a long and courageous battle against Cancer. Beloved husband for 46 years of Cindy McCarter. Loving father of Erika Goodman (Steve) and Brendan McCarter (Bonnie). Adored Grandfather of Tony, Grace, Maggie, Natalie and Emily. Dear Brother of George McCarter (Anita) and Bob McCarter (Kathy). Brother in Law to Michael and Barbara Woldemar. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. A native of Petaluma, aged 67 years. Jim was in the auto parts business for nearly 50 years, owned Sonoma Auto Parts. An avid golfer, he enjoyed his membership in the Petaluma Golf & Country Club, having served on the board of directors and as President. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 29, 2016 from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm at PARENT-SORENSEN MORTUARY & CREMATORY, 850 Keokuk St., Petaluma. Family and friends are also invited to the funeral service, Thursday, June 30, 2016 at 11:00 am at PARENT-SORENSEN. Interment will follow at Cypress Hill Memorial Park. The family prefer that memorials be made to the American Cancer Society. Visitation
