James Orby Reagan

James Orby Reagan passed away on December 30, 2019 in Petaluma at the age of 87 years.  Devoted husband of the late Beverly Reagan.  Cherished father of James Reagan, Jr.  Adored grandfather of Jenifer Jimenez and Kimberlie Cardenas.  Beloved great-grandfather of Anthony Reagan, Alicia Reagan, Alexandria Reagan, James Reagan, Brian Reagan, Shianne Reagan, Angel Cardenas, Elijah Cardenas, Isaiah Cardenas, and Savanah Cardenas.  Survived by his sister, Bobbie Jo; predeceased by seven brothers and sisters.  Survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Jim was born in Cameron, Oklahoma on October 28, 1932 to Ruth and Walter Reagan.  The family moved to Watsonville where he attended high school.  It was during this time that he found his passion for playing guitar, and he was influenced greatly by the music of Ray Charles and Elvis Presley.  He had a natural talent and enjoyed playing for the crowds.

Jim joined the US Army and was transferred to Two Rock Ranch.  Upon discharge from the Army, he remained in Petaluma where he began another journey in his music career.  He performed Country Western music with Petalumans, Buck Ballwahn, Vic Digesti and Kay Pickle.  Jim and Buck formed a band and played at many venues.  Ever the popular entertainer, Jim played at the Petaluma Centennial event to his biggest crowd.  A couple other great accomplishments are that he played on American Bandstand and his music can be heard in the movie "American Graffiti."

Deciding to slow his pace, Jim began work in the construction industry for Maggiora-Ghilotti.

Above all, Jim loved his family.  He was a wonderful man and will be greatly missed.

Friends and family are invited to attend the Funeral Service, Tuesday, January 7, 2020 at 11:00 am at the PARENT-SORENSEN MORTUARY & CREMATORY, 850 Keokuk St., Petaluma.  A Visitation will be held on Monday, January 6, 2020 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the Mortuary.  Interment: Cypress Hill Memorial Park, Petaluma.
