Janeene Gilardi Krist

Janeene Gilardi Krist - Passed away peacefully at home with her family around her in Petaluma, CA, November 1, 2011. Beloved wife of Ed Krist. Loving mother of Jim(Geri) Krist, Mike (Joni) Krist and Ricky (Lori) Krist, all of Petaluma, and the late Terri Krist. Cherished grandmother of Jamie, Josh, Jessi, Chadd, Chelsea, Joelle, Robert, Jaden and TJ Krist. Dear sister of Renee Witt of Santa Rosa and the late Elwyn Gilardi, Edward Gilardi and Robert Gilardi. Daughter of the late Mike and Eleanor Gilardi. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. Age 77 years. Born and raised in Petaluma, she attended Petaluma High School where she was a cheerleader and met her husband of 56 years. As a homemaker she was a dedicated wife, mother, team mom, school volunteer and all around support system. When her kids were grown she went on to a 30 year career working for the Petaluma School District as a teacher's aide at Cherry Valley and Grant Elementary Schools. She was an avid fan of all her kids' and grandchildren's sporting events. She knew the game and gave great insight and advice. Her grandchildren kept her busy with all forms of events to attend and she loved them all. Her family first voice was loud and firm. She also loved horses and the races, never missing the Kentucky Derby. Her passions included dancing, watching ice skating, music, watching a good old movie and musicals, lunches with high school friends and the Giant's just to name a few. Although she will be sadly missed, her memories will be forever cherished.
