Janine Augustine Hay De-Warns

Janine Augustine Hay-DeWarns passed peacefully at Clover Senior Center while surrounded by her loving family on December 27, 2021 in Santa Rosa, California.

Janine was born on April 15, 1930 in Cherbourg, France and raised in Cherbourg with her two younger brothers, Daniel and Jean.

A WWII survivor, Janine later met and married Army staff sergeant Ronald Henry DeWarns on August 1, 1953. After moving many places with the Army, they eventually settled in Petaluma, California. Ronald and Janine had six children before his passing on November 19, 1980. She is survived by all her children: Catherine, Joann, Monique, Linda, Johnnie and Steve, and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Janine’s true joy in life was being a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She also enjoyed knitting, was a talented painter and a great cook.

She was a giving, loving, funny and beautiful soul who will be missed by all.
