On Monday, October 9th, 2017, heaven received another angel by the name of Janis Ruth Bueler Marks. Janis left this world quietly early Monday morning to be with her parents, Mark and Catherine, and big brother, Bob, in heaven. Janis leaves behind her loving daughter Maureen, faithful Son in Law, Matthew and two beautiful granddaughters, Athena Rose and Haven Noelle. Janis was surrounded by so many family members and friends and will be truly missed. She also leaves behind a big sister, Donna, little brother, Dennis, her nieces, Paula, Michelle, Ann, Kate, Cecilia, Suzanne, Angie, her nephews Bryan, Michael, Tim, Todd, and Jason, sisters-in-law Debbie and Patti and brother in law Robert. She was a great aunt to Sabrina, Markus, Bernadette, Brian, Amanda, Anthony, Austin, Travis, Mari, Elias, Sammy, Manny, Lincoln, Jenna, Bella, Brianna, Vince and Micah.
Janis was born in So San Francisco, graduated from Novato High School, and lived in Point Reyes while working the campground. In 1975 she moved to Petaluma with her daughter Maureen. Janis worked for the GTE phone company for many years and then worked for New Zealand Milk Product for a few years. She then decided that it was time for a change and started working for the Petaluma Police Department, where she worked as a Police Dispatcher for 20 years. She meet lifelong friends there including Daralyn, Kathrina, and Kathleen.
After her retirement from the PPD, she followed her true passion of work, and became a Nanny. Janis loved children and caring for others. If you asked someone about Janis they would tell you that she would do anything for anyone without question. She would make a cake if you needed one, fix or sew your clothes, bring a card to a sick person, work overtime if needed, be at every football game for her team, never miss any event for her child or grandchildren, make the best gifts for holidays that seemed to fit one’s life perfectly, bake enough treats for an army, love any animal that crossed her path, be a tender shoulder to cry on, and make you laugh with joy until your sides hurt. She was a jovial spirit that was truly the life of any party, and would stand up for her family and friends as fierce as any highland warrior. There is truly a party now in heaven with Janis there, and you know, of course, that she made all the napkins and all of the treats for the event.
She will be greatly missed by her family and friends here on earth. Her loving and charismatic spirit will live on, in all of the people she touched.
