Jeanette M. Vieira

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Jeanette Vieira. Jeanette was a member of a pioneer Marin County Dairying family. Jeanette was the daughter of James and Vivian Bloom. In 1955 Jeanette married William (Bill) Vieira, they were married for 61 years until his death in 2016, together they raised four children on the family’s ranch.

She is survived by her children, Gayleen (Dennis) Maas, Mary, Bill, and Joe Vieira, granddaughter Samantha Maas, brother Wayne (Susan) Bloom, sister-in-law Bonnie Bloom, and many nieces and nephews.

Jeanette had a great memory, and could recall people places and events from her lifetime, she became the family historian, telling stories from the past, keeping track of all the generations of family, and teaching her children about their history. Jeanette enjoyed gardening and cooking, but in recent years it became too hard for her, she still enjoyed Sunday dinners with her children, getting her weekly phone call from her granddaughter, Wednesday lunch with her boys, and keeping tabs on all that was going on at the ranch and with family.

A private family service was held at Calvary Cemetery, Petaluma.
