Jennie Leali passed away peacefully at home in Tomales, CA Tuesday February 6, 2024 surrounded by her loving family. Jennie was born in Marshall, CA to Italian Immigrants Ernesto and Giacomina Paoli and was the youngest of three sisters.
She was a graduate of Tomales High School and then became a dental assistant in Petaluma. Jennie married Egidio Leali in 1955 and they resided on their Dairy Ranch in Tomales, CA. She worked alongside her husband on their dairy and beef cattle ranches, was active in the Marshall and Tomales Catholic Churches, and was a 4-H and Community Club Leader. Jennie enjoyed gardening, knitting, reading, cooking and baking for her family and friends and was an avid collector of all things cow. She loved ranch life where she and her husband raised their two adored daughters. Jennie’s joy was crafting alongside her daughters in their business the Crafty Critters. Although talented in many things her greatest accomplishments were being a Wife, Mother and Aunt.
Survived by loving daughters Margaret McCoy and Janet Leali as well as numerous nephews and nieces. Jennie was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, sisters Bina Vivenzi and Carrie Silva, brother-in-law Gregorio Leali and nephew James Silva. A special thanks to her dear nieces June Ghiggioli and Stephanie Albini-Smith, nephew Michael Silva and caregivers Mele, Isimeli, Solei, and Olivia.
Visitation will be held on February 12, 2024, from 11:00am-5:00p.m. at Parent-Sorensen Mortuary and Crematory; 850 Keokuk Street in Petaluma. Private interment at Tomales Catholic Cemetery in Tomales. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Hospice of Petaluma or West Marin Senior Services.
