Jennie Marie (Albini) Poncia - Passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 1, 2012, at the young age of 92. She was one of four children born to the late John and Marietta Albini on their ranch on Coleman Valley Road in Bodega Bay. Her sister, Alice Muelrath (93), and brother Americo Albini (91) preceded her in death. Her youngest sister (Babe) Elsie Carmody, 90, is still alive.
Jennie was the beloved wife of the late Alfred G Poncia, of Fallon, (now considered Tomales) CA, and is survived by her children, Alfred L. Poncia, (Cathie), Tomales, CA, and Edwardeen (Deenie) Venditti (Jerry), Sebastopol, CA.
Adoring grandmother of six: Jennifer Poncia, Bend, OR; Melissa Williams (Tony), Novato, CA; Jessica Valentine (Bill), Bend, OR; Loren Poncia (Lisa), Novato, CA; JC and Darin Venditti, San Diego, CA.
Loving great-grandmother of eight: Lindsay, Callan, Tate and Perrin Valentine, Bend, OR; Fallon and Chapin Williams, Novato, CA; Avery Jane and Julianna Poncia, Novato CA. Niece and Nephew include Mary Oliver and Bob Muelrath, Santa Rosa, CA. and too many relatives and friends to enumerate.
One other thing that needs to be mentioned is that after a hard day of physical activity, if Jennie was going somewhere, she loved to dress up, put on her makeup, jewelry, high heels, have a perfect hairdo (she was a beautiful woman) and off sheâ??d go!
In closing, for all of you that knew her, we are having a Celebration of her Life at the Tomales Town Hall on Saturday, April 21, 1p.m.-5p.m. (food and beverage). Please join us and bring your stories and photos to share. Family assisted by PARENT-SORENSEN MORTUARY & CREMATORY, Petaluma.
Jennie married Alfred in 1938 at the age of 18. Together they built their home in Fallon and started a dairy business (35 cows) milking them by hand twice a day. Jennie remained in their home for 74 years.
She was known throughout the community as one of the hardest working women anyone knew. Barely reaching 5â??2â?
