Jessie Ellen Brooks

Jessie Ellen Brooks passed away on September 4, 2013 at home in Petaluma, CA. Born November 15, 1922 in Berthold, North Dakota, she graduated from Tracy High School, Tracy, MN in 1940 and Minnesota School of Business, Minneapolis, MN in 1942. Moved to Richmond, CA in 1943 to work for Kaiser Shipyard #3 where she met Oliver Dee Brooks and married December 2, 1944. She lived in Tiburon, CA for 50 years before moving to Petaluma, CA to be near her family in 2004. Jessie was received into the Lord's hands by her husband Oliver Dee, her daughters Janice Audean DeSouza and Barbara Ellen, her son Roy Edward, and her grand-daughter Barbara Ellen Williams-Reyna. She is survived by her daughters, Donna Carrell of Woodbridge VA, Gladys Marie Van der Beek of Petaluma CA, her son Robert (Deborah) Brooks of Petaluma, CA, her grand-children Cynthia Glover, James Perish, Emma Sevigny, Mark Carrell, Victor Carrell, William Mahalik, Melody Mahalik, Matthew (Christine) Brooks, Kristina (Timothy) Avati, Tamara (Andrew) Troxel, Rebecca Gehlen, Holland Van der Beek, 12 great-grand-children, 4 great-great-grand-children and many nieces, nephews and cousins. In lieu of flowers, Jessie requested donations made to Hospice of Petaluma or your favorite charity. Friends and family are invited to attend the Funeral Service on Saturday, September 14, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at the PARENT-SORENSEN MORTUARY & CREMATORY, 850 Keokuk St., Petaluma. Private Interment.
