Jessie J. Sturm

Passed away at home in Petaluma at the age of 99. Beloved wife for 65 years to the late Gordon C. Sturm, Sr. Loving mother of Les Sturm (Georgenna), Jerry Sturm and the late Gordon C. Sturm, Jr.  Cherished grandmother of 5 and great grandmother of 10. She was the daughter of the late George and Barbara Hofer. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

A native of Freeman, South Dakota. She grew up in South Dakota where she helped her widowed mother on the family farm.  After her arrival in California, she worked for the butcher’s union and later for many years as a waitress at Willie Bird Restaurant in Santa Rosa. She enjoyed canning and canned fruits and vegetables from her son Jerrys’ garden. The family express their appreciation to Jessie’s great niece, Jeanette Hofer for her loving care and to the wonderful caregivers from Hospice of Petaluma

Funeral services will be held 11:00 am, Thursday, April 6, 2023 at Parent-Sorensen Mortuary and Crematory, 850 Keokuk St., Petaluma.  Interment, Cypress Hill Memorial Park.
