Joan "Buni" Busse

JOAN "BUNI" BUSSE passed away on July 12, 2017 in Petaluma at the age of 84 years.  Devoted wife of the late Harry Busse.  Cherished mother of Michael Busse (Maryann), David Busse (Julie), Thomas Busse (Cathy) all of Petaluma and James Busse (Debbie) of Rohnert Park.  Beloved grandmother of 12 and great-grandmother of seven.

Joan was born in Denver, CO on May 6, 1933.  At the age of seven, she and her family moved to San Francisco.  In 1975, Joan and her family moved to Sonoma County, settling in Petaluma.  She was active in little league for 50 years and worked at the district staff level of three counties as safety officer. Always giving of herself, Joan volunteered at Hospice of Petaluma for over 30 years.  She received the Dignity Award from St. Joseph Health System, the first award of its kind.  She was strong in her Catholic faith and was an active parishioner at St. James Church in Petaluma.  Joan was a wonderful woman; she will be greatly missed.

Friends and family are invited to attend the Funeral Mass, Wednesday, July 19, 2017 at 11:00 am at St. James Catholic Church, 125 Sonoma Mountain Parkway, Petaluma.  A Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 18, 2017 from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the PARENT-SORENSEN MORTUARY & CREMATORY, 850 Keokuk St., Petaluma.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Petaluma.  Interment: Cypress Hill Memorial Park, Petaluma.
