John D. Anderson - John Anderson, a resident of Inverness since 1967, died peacefully at his home on Sunday, November 13, at the age of 78 after a protracted illness. He was born in Chicago, Illinois in 1932, served in the US Navy during the Korean War and moved to California after his service. He attended the California College of Art in Oakland, where he studied painting and subsequently moved to Inverness.

He was a life-long artist, recently recognized in San Francisco for the large body of paintings he created over the course of 60 plus years. He was a close associate and friend of the artist Gordon Onslow-Ford, who created the Bishop Pine Preserve in Inverness, where he, John and the sculptor J.B. Blunk, lived and worked. John was also a building contractor, constructing many homes in West Marin.
