Age 88, passed away peacefully in his home April 4th, 2022, surrounded by his loving family. He was born May 16, 1933, to Robert C. Barry and Adelma Barry in Petaluma, CA. He graduated from Petaluma High School in 1951.
In 1955, he married Eleanora "Trudy" Arata, and they began to raise a family, moving to Santa Rosa in 1960. Bob played basketball for Santa Rosa Junior College and in the early 50's he went on to play for the Petaluma Leghorns football team.
He began his working career at Petaluma Poultry Processors for a short time before starting for Clover Milk Co. where he drove a truck for 42 years for his lifelong friend and Leghorn coach, Gene Benedetti. At Clover, Bob developed friendships that lasted a lifetime. After retiring from Clover Stornetta, he spent five years trucking for Biagi Bros.
In 1980, he married Patricia Hodson and later they divorced. Bob loved the outdoors, spending over 30 years above the Russian River. He loved cutting his own firewood, and during retirement he was either helping his neighbors round up stray cattle on Richard Baxman’s yearly cattle drive or give Mark Mann a hand with ranching chores.
Bob had a love and passion for hunting!
At an early age he started hunting at the Ralph Gicomini Hunting Club in Olema CA.
He eventually became an Owner/Member of the Circle D Ranch in Cloverdale CA. His true passion was jumping in his jeep or riding his quads on the property and hunting deer and wild pig. He spent years bringing his family and friends to the ranch to enjoy the great outdoors. It was Bob's “Happy Place.” Bob is survived by his six children: John Barry, Beth (Steve) Venable, Jim (Rita) Barry, Ellen (Dean) Iodence, Dee Barry, and Dave (Christine) Barry. Grandchildren: DJ Barry, Chris Nunes, Jeff Nunes, Tiana Kraus, Jocie Schmidt, Jake Venable, Becky Baumgartner, Lisa O'Neal, Michael Iodence, Trevor Iodence, and Amanda Barry.
