John G. Cordero

John G. Cordero, 90, died peacefully November 5, 2020, at home in Santa Rosa, CA. He was born June 10, 1930 in Sacramento, CA to Josefina Sandora Cordero and Joseph Cordero (deceased).

John graduated from Christian Brothers High School in Sacramento, CA class of 1948.

Following graduation he began his 40 year career with the state of California holding many management positions including running the Department of Disability in the Santa Rosa office until his retirement in 1988.

During the Korean Conflict he served in the US Air Force between 1950 - 1954, ending his service as a Tech Sergeant in Anchorage, Alaska.

In his youth, John became prolific amateur roller AND ice figure skater.

John was a devoted lifetime organist, treasurer and leader for several Catholic parish programs. Most recently "The Star of the Valley" in Santa Rosa. He was a member of the Sons and Daughters of Italy and Knights of Columbus.

John was the last survivor of his family of six brothers and sisters. He is survived by nieces Jackie, Rose, Connie, Darlene and Sandora; nephews Michael, Steven, Robert and Thomas; and the families of Michael and Mary west and Dan Gentry.
