John Bradley "Brad" Evart - Brad Evart passed away in Sonoma on February 19, 2012. Loving father of James A. Evart (Tina) of Rohnert Park and Brenda J. Evart of Santa Rosa. Doting grandfather of Jack Jenco, Samantha Jenco, Christine Tran, and Kelley Evart. Dear brother of Susan K. Walker of Madera, Ann T. White of San Mateo, and the late Mark E. Evart. Survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Brad will be remembered as a thoughtful, humble man whose main joy was spending time with his family and his devotion to his faith.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 26, 2012 from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm at PARENT-SORENSEN MORTUARY & CREMATORY, 850 Keokuk St., Petaluma. The Vigil Service will be held at 3:30 p.m. Family and friends are also invited to attend the Funeral Mass, Monday, February 27, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at St. James Catholic Church, 125 Sonoma Mountain Parkway, Petaluma. Interment will follow at Calvary Catholic Cemetery, Petaluma. The family prefer memorials be made Hospice of Petaluma, 416 Payran St., Petaluma, CA 94952
Brad moved with his family to Penngrove in1939 and resided in Petaluma for the last 62 years. He graduated from St. Vincent High School in 1950 and then St. Mary's College in 1954 majoring in economics. Brad served in the U.S. Army from 1954 to 1956. He was stationed in Germany and Ft. Ord in Monterey, CA where he was a member of the elite Fort Ord Rifle and Pistol Shooting Team.
