John Bryan Feerick

John Bryan Feerick - Passed away at home on June 12, 2011 after a year struggle fighting cancer. He is survived by his wife Patricia Phillips Feerick and daughters Devi Feerick (Steve Hood) of Petaluma , Jolie Feerick of Marin County and Heather Gabel (Frank) of Sparks, Nevada. John is also survived by four grandchildren: Keianna Grotjahn, Robert Ham (US Army stationed in Fort Louis, Washington) and Kori and Cayli Ham of Reno. He is also survived by four sisters: Maureen Gallardo, Mary Chapman, Francie Rodowicz, and Theresa Arkfeld. John was preceded in death by his father Bryan Feerick in 1972 and his mother Barbara Feerick Erthle in February, 2011. Johnâ??s faithful companions were Jennie Mae and Daisy Mae, both Brussels Griffon who were with him upon passing. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, July 16, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at the New Life Christian Fellowship Church, 1310 Clegg St., Petaluma. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Native Sons of the Golden West Charitable Foundation, 414 Mason Street, San Francisco, CA 94102 to assist children born with cleft palates or Hospice of Petaluma, 416 Payran St., Petaluma, CA 94952. John was born in San Francisco and grew up in Marin County. He attended Redwood High School and graduated from Terra Linda High School in 1963. His work life started as a young boy doing odd jobs like mowing lawns and he had a paper route. During his high school years, he worked at Purity Grocery Store in Terra Linda and then Lucky Market. At 23 he became an Allstate insurance agent and operated his Allstate agency in Petaluma for 41 years. John sold his business and retired in 2009.
