John Del Prete - John Del Prete passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family in his wife's arms on Nov. 20, 2009 in Petaluma. Cherished husband of Pat Del Prete of Petaluma. Devoted father of Diana Kilbride of Sebastopol, Susan Del Prete of Los Angeles, John Del Prete, Jr. of Oak Harbor, WA, Jim (Mia) Del Prete of Sebastopol, and Sheryl (John) Bell of Redding, CA. Loving grandfather of 9 and great-grandfather of 1. Dear brother of Yolanda Baccetti of Italy and the late Dante Del Prete Survived by his loving cousin; Ida Arruda of San Rafael, several nieces, nephews, many wonderful friends and his beloved goats. A Visitation will be held on Sunday, Nov. 29, 2009 from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at Parent-Sorensen Mortuary and Crematory, 850 Keokuk St., Petaluma, CA. The Vigil will be on Sunday at 7:00 p.m. at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 35 Liberty St., Petaluma, CA. A Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, November 30, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Vincent. Entombment at Calvary Catholic Cemetery, Petaluma. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Petaluma Sons of Italy Scholarship Fund, P.O. Box 311, Petaluma, CA 94953 or the Marin-Sonoma Italian Club Scholarship Fund, 3230 Middle Two Rock Rd., Petaluma, CA 94952. John immigrated to America from Lucca, Italy in 1949. He and his family settled in San Rafael, where he met the love of his life Pat, his devoted wife of 56 years. They raised their 5 children in San Rafael, moving to Petaluma in 1975 where John fulfilled his life long dream of living in the country and raising animals. John retired in 1995 after working 42 years in the produce business.
