John Joseph Reid

John Joseph 'Jack' Reid - John (Jack) Reid passed away surrounded by his family on Nov. 24, 2008 in Petaluma. He had been a resident of Springfield Place since 2005, moving there from San Rafael where he lived since 1978. Devoted husband for 53 years of the late Eileen Cash Reid, he is preceded in death by his parents, Patrick and Elizabeth Reid. He is survived by his children Susan Reid (Wil) of Sacramento, Hilary McGloin (Frank) of San Carlos, CA and John Reid (Jackie) of Petaluma; grandchildren Kevin, Matthew, Patrick, Joseph and Jamison; and his dear sister, Helen Fiddner of Brookfield Center, Connecticut. Friends and family are invited to attend a Funeral Mass on Wednesday, Dec. 3, 2008 at 11:00 am at St. James Catholic Church, 125 Sonoma Mountain Parkway, Petaluma, CA. John Reid was born in New York City and grew up in the Bronx. He served in WWII as a decorated member of the 63rd Infantry Division and the Federal Bureau of Investigation during the Korean War. He was in charge of Industrial Relations at International Paper Companyâ??s domestic and foreign operations and then Crown Zellerbach in San Francisco. In retirement he was a consultant to U.S. and Canadian paper companies.
