We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of our son JONATHAN CHRISTOPHER MOORE on September 26, 2016. He was 30 years old.
Jonathan was born in San Francisco and grew up in Tiburon, CA. He was very active in many sports, including soccer and baseball. He was a member of Cub Scout Pack 48 in Tiburon and Boy Scout Troop 42, in Novato, where he earned the rank of Life. He attended the National Scout Jamboree in 2000.
When the family moved to Petaluma, he attended St. Vincent's High School where he played football. Upon graduation, he attended Santa Rosa Junior College, Sacramento State and University of Montana where he studied business. He had worked in the construction industry in Marin and Sonoma County for the past five years.
Jonathan enjoyed backpacking, fishing, skiing and wakeboarding. He had a wonderful friendly and outgoing personality with an amazing smile. He will be greatly missed by his friends and family in Norway, Arizona, Texas, Oregon and California.
Regretfully, Jonathan had been battling with a drug and prescription medication addiction that is currently overtaking our neighborhoods and the country. It is our family's greatest hope that our tragic loss will be able to further shed light on this growing epidemic and may help to reach the children of other families.
He is survived by parents Eva and Joseph Moore, brothers Justin, Jeremy, Jordan and sister Brooke Finley.
Private family services were held earlier in the week.
The family is encouraging that donations are made to any drug education or rehabilitation programs.
