Jose Guadalupe Ramirez Cornejo

August 12, 1937 — May 14, 2022

Jose Guadalupe Ramirez Cornejo passed away peacefully surrounded by family on May 14, 2022. Jose was born on August 12, 1937 in the town of Jalostotitlan in Jalisco, Mexico. He was one of eight children that Jose and Magdalena raised in Jalisco. Jose met his wife in the same town at the age of 19, and they married on November 26, 1957.

He decided it was time for a move to the United States in the early 60’s. Those of you who knew our dad knew he had a passion for animals, and with that he pursued his dream working with horses and cows, and ended up working in the dairy industry in Pt. Reyes Station. He worked there many years, eventually becoming a Horse Ranch Manager in Petaluma, CA.

In 1968 the rest of the Ramirez family moved to the U.S. as well, completing their legacy. He was happiest when the whole family could be together, since he was always the life of the party. He loved to celebrate, drink tequila and dance.

Jose liked to keep busy, and he stayed involved with St. James Catholic Church in Petaluma for twenty years after retiring from the ranch.

His legacy includes eight children, Lourdes, Juan, Fernando, Edgardo, Ampelio, Yolanda, Estela, Eduardo and twenty-seven grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren as well as numerous nieces and nephews. His zest for life will be greatly missed.
