Joseph "Joe" Fee

Joseph Francis Fee passed away peacefully on January 21, 2017 at home with his daughter, Cecilia by his side.  He was 92.

The eighth of nine siblings, Joe was born on September 26, 1924 in Philadelphia, PA, to the late James and Ella Hatfield Fee.  On his eighteenth birthday in 1942, Joe enlisted in the U.S. Army where he honorably served for 42 months.  His primary duties were with the Signal Corps where he monitored Japanese radio transmissions for military intelligence departments throughout World War II.  When the war ended, Joe met the love of his life, Elizabeth Glavin of Petaluma, and the ensuing marriage lasted 54 years.  Elizabeth passed away in 2001. A plumber by trade, Joe was a member of UA Local 38, Plumbers and Pipefitters, from 1947 until his retirement in 1987.  Within that time, he served on the Building Trades Council as well as the Central Labor Council.  In retirement, Joe pursued his lifelong love of fishing and continued to take many trips with his friends and family to his favorite spots in Nevada and Idaho.

Joe is survived by a daughter, Cecilia Reed of Billings, MO, two granddaughters, Lisa Reed of Newport Beach, CA, and Judy Marty of Petaluma, CA, one grandson, Tom Reed, of Verona, MO, a son-in law, Fred Marty, as well as many great, and great-great grandchildren.

Joe was also preceded in death by his brothers James, Peter, and John, sisters Ella, Alice, Catherine, and Anna Mae, daughter Patricia Marty, and son-in-law Tom Reed.

Family and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Mass on Thursday, January 26, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. at the St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 35 Liberty St., Petaluma, CA.  A Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 25, 2017 from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. with a Vigil Service at 7:00 P.M. at the Parent-Sorensen Mortuary & Crematory, 850 Keokuk St., Petaluma, CA.  Following the services a reception will be held.
