It is with profound sadness that I announce the unexpected and sudden death of Joseph Peter Hile. Joe was my devoted husband of 48 years and our son Zachary's loving father. Joe was loved, respected and admired by his brother John and his wife Marilyn, his brother Tom, his sister Elizabeth Schreiber and her husband Russell, his niece Sequoia Gurli and her husband Jake, his niece Aimie Jory-Hile, and he was enjoying forming a special relationship with his great-nephew, Leo Gurli.
Joe loved his family and friends and enjoyed sharing common interests in gardening, orchids, bonsai and golf. He especially valued the time he spent with his son Zachary at sporting events (Joe and Zach for many years had season tickets to the Cal Bears football games and loved the Oakland Raiders and Oakland A's). Joe had a love of all animals, but doted on our English Labrador Retriever, Rufus, and our cats, Jack, Nola and Bella. He enjoyed the camaraderie and joie de vivre he shared with his long-time friends, neighbors and working colleagues.
For anyone who wishes to say goodbye to Joe, please join us for a "Farewell" at Parent-Sorensen Mortuary, 850 Keokuk Street in Petaluma on Friday, August 19 at 1:00 p.m. You are also invited to join the family afterwards at our home.
