Joseph Hammill III - Joseph Hammill III passed away peacefully at his home in Petaluma on Oct. 10, 2007. Beloved husband, for 59 years to Pauline Hammill. Loving father of Dolores Shotton and her husband Doug of Richmond, CA, Robert Hammill and his wife Karlena of Fremont, CA, and Edward Hammill of Waynesville, OH. Devoted and beloved grandfather of Joseph Hammill and Shanna Hammill both of Fremont and Andrew Hammill of Waynesville. Friends and family are invited to attend a Memorial Service on Saturday, October 13, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Johnâ??s Anglican Church, 40 Fifth St., Petaluma, CA. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Petaluma, 415 Payran St., Petaluma, CA 94952. A very proud US Navy veteran of WWII, 1942-1945. He served on the hospital ship, USS Refuge, as a Pharmacist Mate 2nd Class, Operating Room Technician. He was employed by GMAC in 1941 as Cashier in the Camden, NJ branch office. In 1965 he was sent to the west coast to open the Data Processing Center in Burlingame, CA. In 1977 he was transferred to Dayton, OH as the Data Processing Manager in charge of Personnel & Finance, world wide, until his retirement in 1985.
