Joseph Franklin Moreda

September 22, 1936 — April 5, 2018

Passed away April 5, surrounded by his loving family. Joe was born on a dairy in Petaluma to Joseph and Virginia Moreda on September 22, 1936. With the exception of his years of service in the army, he lived his entire life in Sonoma County and married the love of his life, Peggy Furlong. After working for PG&E for 35 years and retiring in 1993, he spent his days hunting, fishing, camping in his travel trailer, barbecuing with family and friends, watching his grandchildren’s sporting events, and helping his kids however he could. Joe was a member of the Resurrection Parish of Santa Rosa, San Antonio Gun Club, the Holy Ghost Society of Petaluma, and the Ready Rovers RV Group of PG&E. A warm and caring man, who was loved by all who knew him. He is survived by Peggy, his wife of 57 years, and children Joe Moreda (Tanya) of Valley Ford, and Sheila Moreda Tresenrider (Philip) of Sebastopol. Dearly loved by his grandchildren Joe and Jim Moreda, and Amy, Colbi, and Brittney Tresenrider. Joe is also survived by his dear brother Frank Moreda of Santa Rosa and four sisters in law, Esther, Carolyn, Janet and Jean, as well as many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers William, Stanley, and Clarence. A funeral mass for family and friends will be held on Thursday April 12, at 11:00 A.M. at St. Vincent De Paul Catholic Church in Petaluma. The family asks that any memorial donations be made to Hospice or a charitable organization of your choice. Funeral Mass
