Josephine, Lorraine Lange - Josephine was born in Stockton, CA and passed away at home in Petaluma on September 17, 2008. Beloved wife of the late Harold Lange. Loving mother of Evelyn (William) Slessinger of El Sobrante. Devoted grandmother of David Slessinger, Eric Slessinger, and Rebecca Slessinger. Great-grandmother of David Slessinger Jr., Cory Slessinger, and Daniella Slessinger. Dear sister of Ernest Kaiser of Manteca. Thanks to Rebecca, Julie, friends and neighbors, she was able to remain at home. Special thanks to her caregivers Julie, Paula, Judy, Denise, and Hospice of Petaluma for their loving care. There will be no services, but family and friends will get together at a later date to celebrate her life. In memory of Josephine, donations may be made to Hospice of Petaluma, 416 Payran St., Petaluma, CA 94952 or to your favorite charity. In her youth, the family moved to Petaluma. She worked for a time at the Old Silk Mill. Josephine married Harold Lange in 1929. They spent many years chicken ranching. Josephine was a member of the Marin School PTA where their daughter Evelyn attended school. Harold died in March 1985.
