Joyce Maxine Buttke Johnsen - Joyce Johnsen passed away on August 19, 2008 in Petaluma. Devoted wife of the late Gordon "Johnnie""" Johnsen. Loving mother to John Johnsen (Doris Lopez), Jerry Johnsen (Betty) and Deb Johnsen Sheridan (Brian). Adored Grama to Ellendril Johnsen-Sommers (Josh), Klint Sheridan and Zakary Sheridan. Grama also to Kenneth Cook, Maurice Yu, Blair, Gabby, Cael, Seamus, Fiona, Monroe, Hudson, Henry, Iris, and her grandpugs. Joyce leaves behind her sister, MarJean Korf of Polson, Montana, sisters-in-law DeeDee Buttke and Lorraine Johnsen and numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her mother and father; Clara and Art Buttke, her brother Don, and several brothers and sisters-in-law. "" Mom will be deeply missed and will never hurt again. A memorial service will be held at Elim Lutheran Church at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 24, 2008. Joyce Maxine Buttke Johnsen, was born on February 18, 1923 in Buffalo, North Dakota. Attended Moorehead Teacher's College in Minnesota. Moved to Oxnard, CA during WWII and became a "Rosie the Riveter.""" Met her husband of 61 years, while he was on leave from the Marine Corps. Moved to Petaluma and were married on September 30, 1945. Joyce loved her family, extended family and many sister-friends. She was a member of Elim Lutheran Church. ""
