Jule Ann "Julie" Taber

Jule Ann “Julie” (McPhee) Taber, 87, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 25, 2023. She was born in 1935 in San Francisco, the youngest of 6 girls, to Alma and Julian McPhee. She grew up in San Luis Obispo on the Cal Poly Campus, where her father was president. She moved to Sonoma County in 1955, after marrying William Taber. Julie and Bill were married for 55 years, raised 5 children, owned and operated a dairy, traveled extensively, and were active at St. Sebastian’s Church. Julie was a kind and loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She attended her family’s sporting events, school activities, concerts, and theater performances. She was a wonderful role model who showed unconditional love. She was also an understanding and compassionate listener. Julie was proud to have graduated at the age of 48 from Sonoma State with a degree in Psychology. She was an avid reader and was active in her lunch bunch, bridge and pinochle clubs, YLI, and country line dancing. Julie is survived by her sister, Carol (McPhee) Norton, five children: Deirdre Kingsbury (Duncan), Mark (Laurie) Taber, David (Anneliese) Taber, Brian (Monica) Taber, Monica (David) Gutting; and 15 grandchildren: Mikaela, Thomas, Daniel, Diana, Stephen and Catherine; Patrick and Kathleen; Jennifer and Michael; Alena, Danielle and Matthew; Alondra and Linnea; 8 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was predeceased by her husband, William Taber, her parents Julian and Alma McPhee, and her sisters, Helen, Bernadette, Jean, and Claire. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 19, 2023, at 11:00 a.m., at Parent-Sorensen’s funeral home, 850 Keokuk Street, Petaluma, followed by a graveside service at Calvary Catholic Cemetery. The family is very thankful for the loving care provided by her caregivers and Memorial Hospice.
