Julia Dolores Gervais - Julia Dolores Gervais left this world peacefully on December 5, 2010. She was born in the hamlet of Pacifica, CA on July 5, 1912. She always loved the autumn colors and it is fitting that, at age 98, she took her final journey during this time of the year.
She leaves her son Dante, daughter-in-law Jacqueline, three grandchildren, Perry (Christine), James (Tricia), and Gregg (Sandra). She was extremely proud of her five great grandchildren, Sierra, Colin, Tana, August and Catherine. She also leaves her godson, Joseph Michelucci and many nieces and nephews of the Lotti and Michelucci families, of whom she proudly talked about and leaves her undying love.
The family greatly appreciates the wonderful care given her by the dedicated caregivers at Optimum Senior Residential Care Home. The family also extends many thanks to the Memorial Hospice nurses for their kind support and care to Julia and her family.
Friends and family are invited to attend the Visitation on Wednesday, December 8, 2010 from 11:00 AM to 8:00 PM with a Vigil Service at 7:00 PM at the PARENT-SORENSEN MORTUARY-Sebastopol, 301 S. Private Interment: Golden Gate National Cemetery. She believed in hard work, a good education and loved her family and country. In her youth she had to work to support her mother and family. She was one of eight children, and the last remaining sibling of Rose, Nellie, August, Guido and Blanche Lotti, and Romeo and Jules (Babe) Michelucci. She took the advice of one of her older brothers and attended Healds Business College in San Francisco. She became a bookkeeper and remained in that profession until retirement. She lamented the fact that she never received a high school diploma. In her fifties Julia attended classes at El Camino High School at night and proudly received her high school diploma.
