Julie May Tuckey passed away at her home in Petaluma on August 16, 2016 at the age of 83. She was born in San Francisco to Atilio and Adeline Rugerri on March 26, 1933.
Julie was raised in a traditional Catholic Italian family with her four sisters and brother whom she loved dearly. She graduated from Mercy High School Burlingame in 1951 where her small stature and natural athleticism earned her nickname, ‘the little giant'. Field hockey was her favorite sport.
Julie was the beloved mother to six sons and one daughter, whom she raised proudly in a country Petaluma home. She provided a storybook childhood with horses and farm animals, hot rods, motorcycles and drums. Julie honored family traditions and made memories to last lifetimes, hosting festive holiday and birthday parties for all of her children to enjoy.
Julie was happy, walked with a pep, and always had a smile. She was enthusiastic about politics and loved to read. She valued hard work and honesty. She loved watching sports and tennis was always her first choice.
Julie was preceded in death by her parents Atilio and Adeline Ruggeri, siblings Carrie Pardini, Michael Ruggeri, Susan Hubbard and Donna Burdick and sons Jim and John Causbrook.
Julie is survived by her sister Aldean Simi, sons Jeff, Joe, Jay, and Jerry Causbrook, daughter Jamie Tuckey, grandchildren Jameson and Jonathan Delatorre, and Carli and Gracie Causbrook and many loving nieces, nephews and cousins.
Special thanks for Jerry Causbrook who took care of Julie and her property for years, and Grace Rodriguez and Catalina Lopez from Sutter Hospice for their incredibly kind and compassionate care.
