June Burtner

June Burtner - Passed away on January 6, 2012 in Santa Rosa. Devoted wife of the late George H. Burtner. Adored mother of Cheryl Grammens (Paul) of Santa Rosa, Janice Bowers (Mike) of Vallejo, and Patty Duke (Dee) of Jefferson, OR. Cherished grandmother of 12 and great-grandmother of 20. Loving sister of the late Russell Lebeck. Survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins. Age: 90 years. June was born in Oakland, but reared and educated in Petaluma, graduating from Petaluma High School and later Empire College of Commerce in Santa Rosa. She married George on Feb. 21, 1942 in Reno and together they enjoyed nearly 50 years of marriage. June worked as a bookkeeper for 20 years for Nielsen Freight and Petaluma Poultry. In her spare time, she enjoyed her grandchildren and playing games. As a member of the Petaluma United Methodist Church, June was quite active in the church community, as well. Friends and family are invited to attend the Memorial Service, Friday, January 27, 2012 at 1PM at the Petaluma United Methodist Church, 410 D St., Petaluma. Memorial contributions may be made to the Petaluma United Methodist Church, Memorial Hospice or the American Cancer Society. Private Interment: Cypress Hill Memorial Park, Petaluma.
