June Delphina Silacci - Died peacefully at home on January 24, 2009 after a battle with colon cancer. June was born on March 28, 1923 in Petaluma. She was the beloved daughter of the late Jessie and Alvin Patocchi, beloved wife of Lloyd H. Silacci of 66 years, loving mother of David Silacci (and his wife, Susan Lewis) Arlyn Silacci (and Robert McMahon) and, dear sister of Violet Tufts and the late Doris Muzinich-Dunaway.
Family and friend are invited to visit on Thursday, January 29, 2009 from Noon to 2:00 P.M. at the PARENT-SORENSEN MORTUARY & CREMATORY, 850 Keokuk St., Petaluma. A Graveside Service will follow at 2:30 P.M. at Calvary Catholic Cemetery, Petaluma. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or favorite charity of choice.
She graduated from Petaluma High School in 1941 and started St. Francis School of Nursing. After several months at school, June quit to marry Lloyd on April 4, 1942 in Carson City, Nevada. She worked at the telephone company in Sausalito during the war. She was one of the first female real estate agents in Petaluma. After moving to Los Angeles area in 1962, she went back to school to complete her nursing training and became an RN. She worked for the Los Angeles County Health Department for many years until her retirement. After retiring in 1992, June and Lloyd moved back to Sonoma County.
June loved to crochet, knit, cook and work in her garden. She entered the Sonoma County Fair every year with prize winning recipes, and needlework projects. Her other love was dolls and she was an avid collector.
