Karin Hoy

Karin Hoy peacefully passed away on October 25, 2021. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend.

Born in Oslo,Norway in 1929, Karin was the youngest daughter of Lydia Eskelund. She had two siblings, Ole and Astrid. After attending art school, she bravely ventured to the USA on her own in 1958.  She met her Danish husband, Jorgen Hoy in San Francisco and moved to Petaluma, where they started their family.  They had three children, Carl Johan who tragically passed as a baby, Lydia and Rita Lynn.

She is survived by Lydia Hoy Zipp, Rickey D. Zipp, Rita Lynn Hoy Wyrick, Everette D. Wyrick, Alexander Jorgen Wyrick Hoy and their extended families as well as her nieces and nephews. She will be missed by her family and friends in California, Norway, Denmark and all over the world.  Karin's bright energy and love of life will always be with us in our hearts. Funeral service to held at Elim Lutheran Church in Petaluma on Saturday, 11/6 at 2pm. Reservations are required at the Elim website: Karin's Memorial Service. Reception to follow at Petaluma Veteran's Memorial 3:30 pm.
