Kay, the daughter of Russian immigrants and the youngest and last of her ten siblings, was an independent and strong woman, raised on a farm in North Dakota. She moved to Petaluma in 1946, married, raised two sons, Douglas and Daryl, who attended Petaluma schools from kindergarten through high school, and worked in janitorial and private house keeping services. A wonderful cook, Kay took great pleasure in cooking and baking for friends and family as well as her service providers (doctor, lawyer, insurer, dry cleaner, grocery clerks, etc.). She would deliver her cookies and concoctions simply to brighten your day. If you needed a helping hand, a baby sitter or a pet sitter, sheâ??d be there for you. She was also an avid vegetable gardener who loved to tell stories about growing up on the farm.
