Kay J. Wayland - On Wednesday March 25th, Kay Wayland left this world after a short illness. She was 76 years old. A much loved mother, friend, and chef, she will be greatly missed. She was born in Omaha, Nebraska, on July 16, 1932. As a young woman, she spent some time in New York City but eventually settled in California where she met the love of her life, David Wayland, in the 1950â??s. They were married for 42 years and raised three children. In middle age, after her children were grown, she started work as a secretary with the California startup software company, Broderbund, eventually working her way up to product manager. She was very proud of her success in the business world. She had a passion for fine food, and as a true â??foodie,â?
