It is with great sadness to announce Kevin John Cheda’s passing on June 19, 2022, from battling with Progressive Supranuclear Palsy and Throat Cancer. Kevin was one of seven children born on December 25, 1961 to the late Patricia and Leroy Cheda of Petaluma. He is survived by: his companion, Debbie Cuccaro; siblings: Leroy (Cindy), Larry (Jill), Greg (Barbie), Tim (Edith) Cheda; Loretta (Ray) Gutendorf; and Ladonna (Mike) Swallow. He is also survived by: his children, Andrew (Gina) Cheda of Point Reyes; and Angelina Cheda of Petaluma; grandson, Rico Cheda; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A 1980 Casa Grande graduate, he played on the football team and was apart of the Future Farmers of America Chapter. As a 4th generation dairyman, he continued his family roots by starting his own dairy in 1987 with his former wife Diana Camozzi Cheda. He passed his passion of the dairy industry down to his kids where they enjoyed taking cows to the local fairs and starting their own herds. With little time away from his business, he looked forward to his out of state hunting trip and the family tradition during deer season to have family and friends invited on the Cheda Hills Ranch for a group hunt. Kevin was an active member at the Moose Lodge, the Native Sons organization, and friends’ deer clubs.
Family and friends are invited to attend the funeral mass in honor of Kevin’s life at St. James Church, 125 Sonoma Mountain Parkway on Saturday, July 2, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. The cemetery burial portion of the arrangements is private.
Those who prefer may make donations, which can be sent to [email protected] or the Howard Clementino Memorial Milk Barn, c/o Sonoma-Marin Fair, 175 Fairgrounds Drive, Petaluma, CA 94952 (towards a memorial in his honor).
