Kristy Marie Mendoza

Kristy Marie "Kris" Mendoza (nee Long) Kris Mendoza, 65, passed away suddenly on September 19, 2016 from complications after her 15 month battle with cancer. Her loss is immeasurable. Kris was preceded in death by her parents, Lenus and Phyllis Long, and her brother Timothy Long. She is survived by her loving husband of 46 years, Mark Mendoza, her son, Aaron (Samantha) Mendoza, her son Anthony Mendoza, and her daughter Angela (Kurt) Mendoza-Hurley, her brother Vincent (Karen) Long, along with 7 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Kris was born in Sioux City, Iowa and moved to Santa Rosa as a young child. She graduated from Santa Rosa High School, Class of 1969 and attended Santa Rosa Jr. College. Kris worked for the Santa Rosa City Schools for about 30 years. She started with the Purchasing-Maintenance department. She then had various classified staff positions at Burbank Elementary, then Elsie Allen, Maria Carrillo, and Montgomery High Schools. Kris retired in June 2015. Family and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Mass, followed by a "Celebration of Kris's Life" on Saturday October 8, 2016 at 12:30 P.M. at St. Rose Catholic Church (398 10th St, Santa Rosa, CA, 95401).
