Well Larry it has been a long journey. A journey that has left us with great memories, a few we probably don't want to repeat, but many we will share for a lifetime.
You have been a part of my life since the day I met your brother Jerry, 40 years ago. Talk about 2 peas in a pod! I remember nights where you two would go on for hours telling jokes. I think you laughed harder after telling the joke then everyone else. Your great smile, your sense of humor, your stubbornness!!!, and your famous saying "Well I'm Be Damned"!
To all the family you loved, and loved you. To all your friends that had the privilege of knowing you, and to everyone's life you have touched. We don't say goodbye. We say until our paths cross again.
You will be truly missed!
You hold a special place in our hearts!
With Love Always,
Joanne Urban (Sis) and Family
Larry, you have been part of our family for 26 years. You walked me down the aisle to marry Stewart 25 years ago. You are the only grandfather my youngest daughter, Jessica, ever knew and the only great-grandpa my grandchildren had on my side of the family. For the past almost three years, I have been the one to take you to doctor's appointments, hospitals for the many surgeries you were brave enough to endure, oversee your medications and whatever else you needed me for. I have spent countless hours sitting and watching you as you recovered. We have spent many hours in the car driving to appointments where we did quite a bit of talking. I have gotten to know you better than probably anyone in my family.
I know that the past few months were difficult for you and I wish that I could have made them better. Everyone you touched loved you - no matter where you went - doctor's offices, hospitals, rehab facilities and the board and care home - heck, even Starbuck's. You had an infectious laugh that I will hear for a long time to come. Hearing you laugh made me happy!
Your compassion for other people and animals was amazing. Your positive outlook on life and the way you always rolled with the punches was beyond belief. To the very end, you were a hero. You touched my life in more ways than I can express and changed me and the way I look at life forever. My life feels emptier without you around and I do miss you.
Luv ya Larry!

A man that I grew up with as my grandfather has died. Even though we were not blood related he was a grandpa in all the ways that matter. Larry, I will forever remember you holding me on your shoulders to watch fireworks, all of the things that will make me "pee hard on the ground", and everything that made you amazing. Every time my phone rings and I hear "Sweet Home Alabama" I will smile and think of you.

Twenty six years ago a man by the name of Larry Urban became a part of my family's life. Larry was like a father figure to me and a grandfather to my two children, Nicholas and Samantha.
July 10th, 2014 was a very sad day for us. Larry Urban passed away. He was a man that always offered to help whenever needed. People were drawn to Larry. He was always making friends wherever he went. He had such a big heart and a laugh that would make you smile.
We will always remember the memories of how Larry impacted our lives. You will never be forgotten Larry, but you will surely be missed.
Rest in Peace
Love you
Linda

Thanks to all of the family and friends who were there for our Dad when we couldn't be. So, here's to you Dad--from your girls -Terri and Shelley. We Love You and We Will Miss You!
