Laverne Eleanor Wetch

LaVerne Eleanor Wetch - Passed away peacefully January 30, 2010 at home in Santa Rosa, surrounded by her loving family. LaVerne was born to Leo and Agatha Gleason in Bodega, CA. She moved to Santa Rosa and attended St. Rose School and graduated from Ursuline High School. In 1956 LaVerne married Phil Wetch. They settled in Sebastopol and raised five children. LaVerne enjoyed spending her time oil painting, knitting, being involved with elections at the registrars office, but most of all spending time with family and friends. She loved to laugh and will be remembered for her great sense of humor. Through the years LaVerne was a member of the Alter Society at St. Sebastian"s church and Autumn Leaves. LaVerne is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, Phil; and her five children: Greg Wetch, Judy Wetch and Kelly Wetch, all of Sonoma County, Suzy (Pete) Reel of Merlin, OR and Scott (Stephanie) Wetch of Sacramento; seven grandchildren: James, Jessica, Joshua, Randi, Hailey, Halena and Olivia; and three great-grandchildren: Jazmine, Baylee and Jax. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Leo H. Gleason and Leland Gleason, and her sisters, Carmelita Otkins and Irene Jaynes.
