Lawrence Joseph Forno

Lawrence Joseph "Larry" Forno - A long time resident of Cotati, Larry Joseph Forno, 86 passed away peacefully at his home on March 7, 2009. He was born to Ernesto and Maggiore Forno of Merced on November 6, 1922. Larry moved with his family to Cotati at the age of fourteen and graduated from Petaluma High School with the class of 1941. Shortly after graduation, he went to work at Mare Island, when he was soon drafted into the U. S. Army serving in Africa and Europe during World War II. Larry is survived by his wife of 36 years Edith Forno of Cotati, his sister Louise Santero of Cotati, and many nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his stepchildren Gordon Swenson of Petaluma, Shari McAsey of Redwood Valley, Linda Cranor and her husband Steve of Napa. He was a loving grandfather to Sylas Cranor of San Luis Obispo and April Casarotti and her husband Randy of Rohnert Park. Larry is also survived by his two great grand children Justin and Jaelyn Casarotti. He was predeceased by his parents, his son- in- law Bob and grandson Shattuc. Larry was dearly loved by all his friends and family. He will be remembered for his love of life, all things Italian- especially spaghetti drank with a glass of white zinfandel- and his full heart. Larryâ??s family would like to thank his caregivers Bui, Ivonne and Lucy and the staff of Petaluma Care and Rehabilitation for their kind care. The family requests that memorial donations be made to Hospice of Petaluma, 416 Payran St., Petaluma, CA 94952. Private graveside services for the immediate family have been planned. Once discharged, Larry returned to work at Mare Island where he was employed for thirty-four years. Larry later worked at Analy High School in Sebastopol until he retired.
