Leo L. Lavio

Passed away at home in Petaluma, CA, May 2, 2016, beloved husband for 58 years of Josephine T. Lavio. Loving father of Beatrice Charles (Mike), Christine Camozzi (Eugene), Diane Rowley (Jeff), Catherine Ielmorini (Doug) and the late Anna Marie Lavio. Adored grandfather of Dominic, Teressa, and Stephanie Rowley, Katherine, Kelley and Maria Camozzi, Lucas, Daniel and Amanda Charles, Ben, Rico, Grace and Giovani Ielmorini. Also survived by his dear twin sister, Elise Albertoni and preceded in death by his brother Hugo Lavio. Dear brother-in-law of Giacomo Manni, his right hand man for 50 years. Uncle of Linda Dusek (Ken) and Richard Albertoni (Sharon) and other nieces, nephews and cousins in the U.S., Italy and Australia. A native of Petaluma, CA. Age 92 years. Leo, a lifelong dairyman, was an active member of the Petaluma area community. Besides serving on many boards and organizations in the dairy and agricultural industry, he was also a member of the Sons of Italy, St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, Nicasio Parlor #183 NSGW, Hicks Valley Gun Club, Marin Sheriff's Posse, Club Italia, Milk Advisory Board and a founding member of the San Antonio Volunteer Fire Department. Leo was well known for his barbecuing, cooking for large groups, and always making room for one more plate at the table for anyone stopping by the ranch. Leo was also an avid hunter, card player, reader and loved to dance. Visitation will be Sunday, May 8, 2016 from 1:00 PM to 3:30 PM at PARENT-SORENSEN MORTUARY & CREMATORY, 850 Keokuk St., Petaluma, CA. The Rosary will be held at 5:00 PM Sunday at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 35 Liberty St., Petaluma, CA. Family and friends are also invited to attend the Funeral Mass, Monday, May 9, 2016 at 10:30 AM at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church. Private entombment for the family will follow at Calvary Catholic Cemetery, Petaluma. In lieu of flowers, the family prefer memorials be made to Hospice of Petaluma, 416 Payran St., Petaluma, CA 94952 , Petaluma FFA, 201 Fair St., Petaluma, CA 94952 or to your favorite charity.
