Leonard A. Miller

October 4, 1942 — November 12, 2016

Leonard A. Miller, 74, passed away November 12, 2016 in Santa Rosa, surrounded by his family. He is survived by his dearest wife of 36 years, Susan Miller, his precious daughter Mandy Miller, cherished sister Judie Wright, and his stepchildren Jeffrey Engwall and Jennifer Sportsman, and grandson Justin Engwall. He also leaves behind many treasured friends and family members. Born October 4th, 1942 in San Francisco, to Anthony and Isabel Miller, he graduated from Polytechnic High in 1960. He later moved to Sonoma County and has made Penngrove his home since 1980. Lenny was a man of many trades from glass art to cartography, but his true passion in life was photography. His talent for capturing the essence of a landscape brought joy and inspiration to many. He loved nature, travel, gardening and caring for his cats as well as Giants Baseball, Warriors Basketball and card games with his poker buddies. With his family he enjoyed camping and hiking – from the coast to the mountains, and especially among the bristlecone pines. He graduated from Sonoma State University in 2004, at the age of 61, with a BA in Geography, an accomplishment that gave him great pride. Lenny was a kind and gentle soul who will be greatly missed by many. Simple funeral services will be held Friday November 18, 2016, at 1:00 pm, at Parent-Sorensen Mortuary & Crematory, 850 Keokuk St., Petaluma, CA.
