Heaven gained a beautiful angel on June 3rd, 2023 when Leslie Martini O’Neill, age 62, departed from this world peacefully in her sleep.
Leslie was born on March 16th, 1961 in San Bernardino, California as the 6th child of the Martinis. Leslie was raised in a military family, she spent her early years moving across the United States and Europe. As a graduate of UC Berkley, Leslie proudly rowed crew for the Bears and continued her young life in San Francisco, a city she loved immensely. She enthusiastically cheered on her beloved San Francisco Giants and Bay Area teams. Leslie met and fell in love with, Dennis O’Neill, her city boy and they were married on April 3rd, 1993. Leslie and Dennis began their life together in San Francisco. After Dennis joined the San Francisco Fire Department, they settled in Petaluma where they raised their 4 beautiful children and became passionately involved in the community.
Whether it was soccer, summer camps, or extracurricular fun, Leslie’s role as a mother was second to none. She taught her children about kindness, resilience, and advocacy and they will embody her goodness with absolute pride and love. Leslie spent countless hours tending to her gardens. Many joined her in Piazza Leslina sharing conversations, wine, or coffee with the sound of her fountain, the view of hummingbirds dancing, and her colorful rose garden. Leslie was passionate about her most recent role at Straus Family Creamery which matched her dedication to the environment and sustainability.
Leslie will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and community. She is survived by her husband of 30 years, Dennis, their children, Eleanore, William, Brendan, and Antoinette. She is also survived by her Martini siblings, Carol (Scott), Cathy, Joseph, Lauretta (Daniel), Judith, Frank, and Ralph Jr. and her in laws the Callaghans, Ceccarellis and Laveronis.
