Lifelong resident of Petaluma area and member of a prominent family involved in the history of the Jewish chicken ranches, passed away peacefully at her home on Monday, February 17, 2014 at the age of 94 surrounded by her loving family. Lil was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer Krulevitch and is the beloved mother of Rae (Edward) Molinsky of Shrewsbury, PA, Ron (Debby) Kaufman of Scotts Valley, CA, Mike (Linda) Kaufman of Petaluma and Step Son, Jerry (Norine) Krulevitch of Dayton, NV. Cherished grandmother of Jason, Jeff, Joel, Adam, Aaron, Andrea and Justin. Devoted great grandmother of Caleb, Noah and Jordan. She was the sister of the late Norman Fishman.
Lily was born in San Francisco, however as an infant settled with her family in the Penngrove area, where her parents were involved in chicken ranching. She attended Penngrove School, graduated from Petaluma High School, Class of 1938 and also attended Santa Rosa Junior College. Lily retired from the Emporium after 20 years of service as shoe department manager. She enjoyed the symphony, plays and was an avid Giants fan, being a "Giants Gamer Babe" at the age of 92. She supported the Green Music Center at SSU as well as local theater productions. Active in the B'nai Israel Congregation, she was a life member and past president of the Hadassah and volunteered with the Jewish Family Services of Santa Rosa and the Petaluma Historical Museum.
Family and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Service, Friday, February 21, 2014 at 11:00 am at PARENT-SORENSEN MORTUARY & CREMATORY, 850 Keokuk St., Petaluma. Interment will follow at B'nai Israel Cemetery, Petaluma. The family prefer memorials be made to Hospice of Petaluma or to Congregation B'nai Israel.
