Linda Darlene Maestretti

Linda D. (George) Maestretti died peacefully on November 18, 2022. She passed away surrounded by her family, at her home in Petaluma, after a short battle with pancreatic cancer.

Linda was an exceptionally loyal and loving person -- curious, candid, thoughtful, open-minded. She wanted to get to know you, whoever you were; any conversation could turn deep and insightful on a dime. She gave sharp, spot-on advice willingly, and even if it was hard to hear, it was usually right.

Linda poured her heart, and her time and energy, into her family above all else. If you were her people, she was there for you, always. She was also a fierce competitor at any card table, an accomplished tennis player, a Scrabble stickler, an amazing cook. She had a green thumb, a strong love of plants and flowers, and was always adding to her beautiful garden. She had a keen, dry sense of humor and tended to be the funniest person in the room. And she was quick, smart, sharp; even into the final days of her life, she could recall an actor or a joke from an old movie, an inside joke from 30 years ago, a specific way she’d prepared a dish. She loved deeply and laughed freely.

She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Jim Maestretti; her children, Jimmy Maestretti and Natalie (Maestretti) Neve (Victor); her grandchildren, Danielle Maestretti (Chris), Brian Maestretti, Mitchell Neve (Amanda), and Spencer Neve (Kaylie); and her great-grandchildren, Max, Jack, Lennon, and Cheyenne. She is preceded in death by her loving parents, Creig and Leona George, and her mother-in-law, Isolena Maestretti. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Petaluma. The family will hold a celebration of life sometime in the spring.
