Beloved Mother, sister, grandmother and great-grandmother Linda Gaye Jacobs Nordberg died November 12, 2015 suddenly but peacefully in her sleep at home at the age of 65. Linda was born in Alameda Ca. and preceded in death by her parents, Allen F Jacobs and Lucille Berry Jacobs. She graduated from Alameda High School class of 1968 and later from Mills College in Oakland graduating Phi Betta Kappa in 1977. She was retired from the Sonoma County Retirement Office as Executive Secretary in 2010 after more than 30 years of service. Linda was the matriarch, devoted to and adored by her family. Her passions included writing and painting but she never shined more than when she cooked or baked. She also loved to read and was never without a book on hand.
She is survived by her daughters, Heather Jacobs, Natalie Nordberg and Annie Thompson (Jeremy) grandchildren, Portia Franklin, Jazimyne Jacobs, Christian Perry, Alyah and Heavenlea Thompson, and her great grandson Kayden Stedman who called her his great big Ama. All living in Sonoma County. She is also survived by her siblings Carolyn Barlow, Rohnert Park, Susan Severs, Fishers, Indiana and Gary Jacobs (Helen), Mooresville, North Carolina; and by her nephews Brian and Douglas Barlow, Tim (Elizabeth) and Dan Severs and Nicholas and Caleb Severs; and nieces Janene Cena (Carl), Becky Severs and Bella and Hattie Severs. Linda was cremated and there will be a Memorial Service at Parent-Sorensen Mortuary & Crematory, 850 Keokuk St. Petaluma, Ca on November 28th at 1 p.m. Open to all her family and friends.
